trumpflation

As usual, republicans are blaming our fantastic president, Joe Biden, for problems caused by the horrible Orange Turd.

Why Democrats must fight GOP's fake "Bidenflation" price hike charge (excerpts from a 11/19/2021 CT Insider article by Dan Haar...
It's a ... big, fat lie. Not an error, not an exaggeration. A screaming fib, weaned on ideology and glorified by an angry base of followers who see bright reminders of inflation in gasoline signs and cannot, or will not, see a truth deeper than "Bidenflation".

In fact, this round of inflation has its cause in the pandemic recession: the steps both White House administrations and the Federal Reserve in 2020 and 2021, had to take to keep the economy moving; and even more so, the bottlenecks caused by a global shutdown with plummeting prices, followed by pent-up demand for goods amid a mass migration from big cities to smaller ones.

...the signs point to a quick end because this round was not the result of the normal, long buildup of pressures — it was caused by the COVID-induced stop and restart. Economist Dean Baker... [argues] that not only is the ARP [American Rescue Plan] not to blame for overheating the economy, but if anything, "our problem may be too little demand rather than too much demand". ...

"The expectation of higher prices changes behavior" -- as consumers rush out to buy ahead of price increases, said Fred McKinney, a Trumbull economist... [but] "This is something that has the hallmarks of a temporary swing". Baker and McKinney... both point out that the 10-year bond market agrees with them, with low interest rates that further erode arguments about lasting inflation.

According to Business Insider, "Americans are dealing with the worst inflation since 1990. But that's the price to pay for historic stimulus and a thriving recovery, and it's a price well worth paying ... This inflationary tab is one worth paying to prevent a catastrophe".

Sure, after the tRump administration bungled the coronavirus response, we didn't have any choice. Unless we wanted to plunge the US into a depression. And, while both the tRump and Biden administration passed huge stimulus bills, it was under the prior administration that the FED massively increased the money supply.

"The beautiful thing about our country is $6.2 trillion — because it is 2.2 plus four [combining the Fed money supply increase and the rescue bill] -- it's $6.2 trillion, and we can handle that easily because of who we are, what we are", Trump said, speaking after the bill's historic White House signing ceremony, and boasting the package was "twice as large" as any prior relief bill.

(Above paragraph excerpted from "Donald Trump And The Fed Are Destroying The US Dollar", a 3/28/2020 Forbes article by Billy Bambrough).

In the 2nd tweet I posted (above), Hugh G Merriman MD wrote "Government spending doesn't cause inflation. Expanding the M2 money supply does".

Economics Help concurs, explaining that "increasing the money supply faster than the growth in real output will cause inflation. The reason is that there is more money chasing the same number of goods" (The link between Money Supply and Inflation by Tejvan Pettinger, 3/13/2019).

Also, in DC they check vaccination status to go into a store? I doubt it. It's usually just a mask that's "required". Meaning there is a sign and that actual mask wearing may or may not be enforced.

btw, you'll be asked to put on a mask or leave. Or produce your proof of vaccination (to enter a restaurant or place of employment). You won't be arrested. Unless you refuse to leave. Then you're trespassing.

  3. If you've had COVID-19 before, does your natural immunity work better than a vaccine?

The data is clear: Natural immunity is not better. The COVID-19 vaccines create more effective and longer-lasting immunity than natural immunity from infection.

More than a third of COVID-19 infections result in zero protective antibodies
Natural immunity fades faster than vaccine immunity
Natural immunity alone is less than half as effective than natural immunity plus vaccination
The takeaway: Get vaccinated, even if you've had COVID-19. Vaccine immunity is stronger than natural immunity.

"Natural immunity can be spotty. Some people can react vigorously and get a great antibody response. Other people don't get such a great response," says infectious diseases expert Mark Rupp, MD. "Clearly, vaccine-induced immunity is more standardized and can be longer-lasting."

A third of infections don't get any protective antibodies
Some people who get COVID-19 receive no protection from reinfection – their natural immunity is nonexistent. A recent study found that 36% of COVID-19 cases didn't result in development of SARS-CoV-2 antibodies. The people had different levels of illness – most had moderate disease, but some were asymptomatic and some experienced severe COVID-19.

"Vaccine-induced immunity is more predictable than natural immunity," says Dr. Rupp. The COVID-19 vaccines provide great protection from severe disease, hospitalization and death.

COVID Vax 5 Times More Protective Than Natural Immunity

Nov. 1, 2021 -- Unvaccinated people who had a recent infection were five times more likely to be reinfected with the coronavirus compared to those who were fully vaccinated and didn’t have a prior infection, according to a new study published Friday in the CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report.

The research team concluded that vaccination can provide a higher, stronger, and more consistent level of immunity against COVID-19 hospitalization than infection alone for at least six months.

    1. That's complete BS. The vaccines are wearing out the immune system by constantly stimulating the production of and wasting unnecessarily produced antigens. Antigen-centric immunologists like Fauci are idiots. Get some facts. Long-term immunity comes from T cell recognition and B cell production. It's why the vaccines are "failing" so badly when it comes to Omicron.

  4. COVID-19 immunity: Natural infection compared to vaccination

The British Society for Immunology has partnered with the UK Coronavirus Immunology Consortium (UK-CIC) to create an infographic which explains the difference in immunity against COVID-19 gained through natural infection with SARS-CoV-2 compared to vaccination. Scroll down this page to discover more, click the download link to print the graphic or share on social media tagging @britsocimm and @UKCICstudy to help strengthen public understanding.
The UK-CIC is looking at what parts of the immune system are involved in generating a protective response against SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, as well as after vaccination. It's likely that for most people vaccination against COVID-19 will induce more effective and longer lasting immunity than that induced by natural infection with the virus. Even if you've had COVID-19, you're recommended to get the vaccine because it will boost whatever immunity you have from natural infection.

Knowledge of COVID-19 and vaccine immunology will continue to evolve and this infographic is accurate at the time of publishing in June 2021.

In today’s MMWR, a study of COVID-19 infections in Kentucky among people who were previously infected with SAR-CoV-2 shows that unvaccinated individuals are more than twice as likely to be reinfected with COVID-19 than those who were fully vaccinated after initially contracting the virus. These data further indicate that COVID-19 vaccines offer better protection than natural immunity alone and that vaccines, even after prior infection, help prevent reinfections.

    4. SCIENCE.ORG

Immune warriors known as T cells help us fight some viruses, but their importance for battling SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, has been unclear.

Now, two studies reveal infected people harbor T cells that target the virus—and may help them recover. Both studies also found some people never infected with SARS-CoV-2 have these cellular defenses, most likely because they were previously infected with other coronaviruses.

"This is encouraging data," says virologist Angela Rasmussen of Columbia University. Although the studies don't clarify whether people who clear a SARS-CoV-2 infection can ward off the virus in the future, both identified strong T cell responses to it, which "bodes well for the development of long-term protective immunity," Rasmussen says. The findings could also help researchers create better vaccines.

The more than 100 COVID-19 vaccines in development mainly focus on another immune response: antibodies. These proteins are made by B cells and ideally latch onto SARS-CoV-2 and prevent it from entering cells. T cells, in contrast, thwart infections in two different ways. Helper T cells spur B cells and other immune defenders into action, whereas killer T cells target and destroy infected cells. The severity of disease can depend on the strength of these T cell responses.

      [skip]

Before these studies, researchers didn't know whether T cells played a role in eliminating SARS-CoV-2, or even whether they could provoke a dangerous immune system overreaction. "These papers are really helpful because they start to define the T cell component of the immune response," Rasmussen says. But she and other scientists caution that the results do not mean that people who have recovered from COVID-19 are protected from reinfection."

Promising studies are NOT definitive studies. Scientists are still doing the research. This is early data still awaiting reviews.

Dr. Fauci would be derelict in his duties if he said ANYTHING definitive about T-cell long-term protection BECAUSE THERE HAVEN'T BEEN ENOUGH STUDIES OR RESEARCH TO PROVE ANYTHING.

Just because you read some articles, that doesn't mean you know this T-cell long term immunity is an accepted way to protect oneself from COVID.

The studies are PROMISING, but there is no hard, definitive proof. Evidence directly on COVID and T cells is still being gathered.

You'd have to be crazy to believe this is settled science. It isn't, this is still being researched.

(CNN) […] Russian President Vladimir Putin “continues to add to” his “menu of options” with the type of capabilities he has added from the Russian military by land, sea and air, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said during a briefing on Monday.

On land, Putin has “combined arms capability, so it’s infantry, it’s armor,” but he has also added “air and missile defense as well as offensive air,” Kirby said.

Putin also has built up his maritime presence. He has added “at least half a dozen” ships in the Black Sea that are LSTs — or landing ships — which have “one purpose, and that’s to put troops ashore,” Kirby said.

“He’s got significant naval power inside the Black Sea,” Kirby said. (more w/ updates)

(RELATED: How Young Ukrainians Are Preparing For Possible Invasion)

Oleksandr Yusupov, a Ukrainian columnist and blogger, agreed, noting that U.S. media often uses the wrong words to describe the ongoing war.

When speaking about the eight-year conflict in Donbas, “many American journalists and TV channels say ‘in Donbas the Ukrainian army is fighting against the Russia-backed separatists,’ which makes readers believe the conflict is to a larger extent an internal one, although it is clear that, despite some Ukrainians indeed serve in the Russian armed formations in the East, the war is between Ukraine and Russia,” Yusupov said.

  27. Durham's EXACT quotes:

In a filing on Thursday, Mr. Durham defended himself, saying those accusations about his intentions were “simply not true.” He said he had “valid and straightforward reasons” for including the information in the Feb. 11 filing that set off the firestorm, while disavowing responsibility for how certain news outlets had interpreted and portrayed it.

“If third parties or members of the media have overstated, understated or otherwise misinterpreted facts contained in the government’s motion, that does not in any way undermine the valid reasons for the government’s inclusion of this information,” he wrote.

"...over the weekend, the conservative news media treated those sentences in Mr. Durham’s filing as a new revelation while significantly embellishing what it had said.

Mr. Durham, some outlets inaccurately reported, had said he had discovered that the Clinton campaign had paid Mr. Joffe’s company to spy on Mr. Trump. But the campaign had not paid his company, and the filing did not say so. Some outlets also quoted Mr. Durham’s filing as using the word “infiltrate,” a word it did not contain."

The Indictment also alleges that, beginning in approximately July 2016, Tech Executive-1 had worked with the defendant, a U.S. investigative firm retained by Law Firm-1 on behalf of the Clinton Campaign, numerous cyber researchers, and employees at multiple Internet companies to assemble the purported data and white papers. In connection with these efforts, Tech Executive-1 exploited his access to non-public and/or proprietary Internet data. Tech Executive-1 also enlisted the assistance of researchers at a U.S.-based universitywho were receiving and analyzing large amounts of Internet data in connection with a pending federal government cybersecurity research contract. Tech Executive-1 tasked these researchers to mine Internet data to establish “an inference” and “narrative” tying then-candidate Trump to Russia. In doing so, Tech Executive-1 indicated that he was seeking to please certain “VIPs,” referring to individuals at Law Firm-1 and the Clinton Campaign.

      5. The Government’s evidence at trial will also establish that among the Internet data Tech Executive-1 and his associates exploited was domain name system (“DNS”) Internet traffic pertaining to (i) a particular healthcare provider, (ii) Trump Tower(iii) Donald Trump’s Central Park West apartment building, and (iv) the Executive Office of the President of the United States (“EOP”). (Tech Executive-1’s employer, Internet Company-1, had come to access and maintain dedicated servers for the EOP as part of a sensitive arrangement whereby it provided DNS resolution services to the EOP. Tech Executive-1 and his associates exploited this arrangement by mining the EOP’s DNS traffic and other data for the purpose of gathering derogatory information about Donald Trump.

  30. Calling Minus Eff Jay! WRONG AGAIN! You're batting a thousand! Always wrong!

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed decrees ordering military forces into two separatist regions of Ukraine for “peacekeeping” purposes as Moscow recognized the breakaway regions’ independence Monday.

Putin signed a decree recognizing the areas — a move that Russia could use to justify an attack in those areas — and an agreement of cooperation with the heads of the two regions: Denis Pushilin of the Donetsk People’s Republic and Leonid Pasechnik of the Luhansk People’s Republic.

The formal recognition prompted a chorus of condemnation from world leaders, with some vowing sanctions.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki said President Biden would issue an executive order prohibiting U.S. investment and trade in the breakaway regions. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen called Putin’s recognition of the breakaway territories a “blatant violation” of international law and said the bloc would “react with unity, firmness and with determination in solidarity with Ukraine.” French President Emmanuel Macron called the declaration a “violation of the sovereignty of Ukraine” and called for an emergency meeting of the U.N. Security Council, echoing Ukraine’s request from earlier in the day.

Paul Manafort, who was Trump's campaign chief from May to August 2016, spent nearly a decade as a consultant to Ukraine's Party of Regions and its standard bearer, Viktor Yanukovych.

Backed by Russian-leaning oligarchs, the party opposed NATO membership and spouted anti-Western rhetoric that once helped fuel violence against American marines. Its reign ended when Yanukovych fled to Russia after bloody street protests against his personal corruption and pro-Moscow actions."
