Whatever is motivating him, it definitely has absolutely nothing to do with him being able to handle the job. As an example, it seems he is opposed to reasonable restrictions on outdoor grilling, due to the danger of an outdoor grill sparking a fire. Seems reasonable, but Spencer Pratt frames the restrictions as tyranny, and also (incorrectly) blames LA mayor Karen Bass and LA councilmember for the 4th district Nithya Raman.
In a moronic AI campaign ad, it is suggested that, because Raman is a member of the Democratic Party and the Democratic Socialists of America, that the DSA has an arrest force that will take people into custody for buying too much meat at Walmart. She said maybe there should be some limits on backyard barbecues, fire pits and other open flames in residential neighborhoods during those high-risk weather events.
Some people, including Pratt, are opposed to taking precautions to prevent fires from ripping though the city and causing hundreds of millions of dollars in damage. I conclude the reason is that he is a moron with no actual ideas or knowledge about what the mayor's powers actually are.

I found the YouTube above on the blog of a Turd that very strongly supports donald trump. It seems he likes this ad. I wrote in a comment "The purpose of the ad is to manipulate morons... aka people like you". Actually, I would say the ad is for morons by morons.
For the record, what exists currently are some patchword guidelines. What Nithya Raman suggested is that the the council expand Los Angeles' Red Flag Warning response and examine how short‑term rules might work. To me this sounds like common sense. But Spencer Pratt clearly lacks common sense. As do people who agree with him.
